After the generation of industrial solid waste, it needs to be stacked on land, and the larger the amount of stacking, the more land it occupies. Solid waste disposal, where harmful components can easily pollute the land. When pathogenic microorganisms and other harmful substances in polluted soil enter water bodies through natural precipitation, runoff, or seepage, they may further endanger human health.

Industrial solid waste can also disrupt the ecological balance in the soil. Soil is a gathering place for many bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. Industrial solid waste, especially hazardous solid waste, can kill microorganisms in the soil, causing the soil to lose its ability to decompose and resulting in the loss of vegetation.

Polluted water bodies:

1. The discharge of a large amount of industrial solid waste into rivers, lakes, and seas can cause sedimentation, thereby blocking waterways, eroding farmland, and endangering water conservancy projects. Toxic and harmful solid waste entering water bodies can turn certain areas into dead zones for organisms.

2. When in contact with water (rainwater, surface water), toxic and harmful components in the waste will inevitably be leached out, leading to changes in the water body such as acidity, alkalinity, eutrophication, mineralization, increased suspended solids, and even poisoning, posing a threat to biological and human health.

Polluting the atmosphere:

The pollution of industrial waste to the atmosphere is manifested in three aspects:

1. The fine particles of waste are blown up by the wind, increasing the dust content in the atmosphere and exacerbating dust pollution;

2. During the production process, due to low dust removal efficiency, a large amount of dust is directly discharged from the exhaust pipe into the atmospheric environment, polluting the atmosphere;

The harmful components in the stacked solid waste produce toxic gases due to volatilization and chemical reactions, leading to atmospheric pollution.

Because industrial solid waste has a significant impact on the environment, we should pay attention to the importance of garbage classification, collection, and discharge.
